One of our favourite moments from the first episode was Giorgio’s cook-along challenge, where contestants were tasked with recreating his beautifully simple yet technically demanding Truffle Gnocchi with Goat’s Cheese Sauce. It was a wonderful reminder of what makes Italian cooking so special: a handful of exceptional ingredients, treated with care and respect, can create something truly memorable.
A Celebration of Goat’s Cheese and Truffle
The gnocchi is paired with a rich yet elegant goat’s cheese sauce, made by gently melting goat’s cheese into warm milk and finishing with fresh chives. The finished dish is topped with grated Parmesan, extra pieces of creamy goat’s cheese and generous shavings of fresh black winter truffle.
It is a perfect example of Giorgio’s philosophy: simple ingredients, expertly balanced, creating layers of flavour without unnecessary complexity.
Bringing the Inspiration to Osteria Locatelli
Watching the challenge unfold brought plenty of smiles to the Osteria Locatelli kitchen. It also reminded us how much we love the timeless pairing of potato and truffle, a combination that continues to feature in many of our seasonal dishes.
This summer, guests can enjoy our Potato, Green Bean & Truffle Salad, which celebrates the same beloved flavours that featured in Giorgio’s Celebrity MasterChef gnocchi. Combining tender potatoes, seasonal green beans and fragrant truffle, the dish showcases how a few beautiful ingredients can be transformed in true Osteria Locatelli style.
Whether you were inspired by Giorgio’s television appearance or simply love authentic Italian cooking, we’d love to welcome you to the restaurant to experience these flavours for yourself.
